asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) if he will list all products on which advertising is banned by regulations made by Ministers;(2) if he will list all products on which advertising is restricted by regulations made by Ministers.

There are over 80 different statues and statutory instruments with relevance to the control of advertising and related trading practices. These are the responsibility of a number of different Government departments and the information requested could be provided only at a disproportionate cost.
