Sir John Biggs-Davison
asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what bodies have recently been added to those against which complaints may be referred to the Northern Ireland Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration.
Mr. Hurd
None. The Northern Ireland Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration's jurisdiction covers the Northern Ireland Departments and the Civil Service Commission for Northern Ireland. Complaints against certain local and public bodies are a matter for the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints. I am considering the implications for these arrangements of the Government's proposal, set out in Cmnd. 9563, to extend the jurisdiction of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration in Great Britain.
