asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the average fine imposed by the courts in the last six months in connection with convictions for motoring offences, other than parking offences.

The latest readily available information is shown in tables 6, 11 and 12 of the publication "Offences relating to Motor Vehicles, England and Wales, 1983—Supplementary Tables", a copy of which is in the Library of the House. The issue for 1984 will be published shortly.
