Mr. Austin Mitchell
asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what changes there have been in the financial incentives for industrial development available to firms in Great Grimsby since May 1979.
Mr. Peter Morrison
Great Grimsby is part of the Grimsby travel-to-work area which was a development area until November 1984, when it was regraded as an intermediate area following the review of regional policy. The effect of this is that firms in Great Grimsby are no longer eligible for regional development grants but remain eligible for regional selective assistance and the full range of nationally-available incentives to industry.
