asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what was the total number of non-premium time hours worked by, and the total cost of overtime payments to, North-western regional health authority ambulance personnel at, or travelling to and from Blackpool, during the period 7 to 11 October;

(2) what was the total cost to the North-western regional health authority of Operation Seagull, mounted at Blackpool during the period 7 to 11 October;

(3) how many vehicles belonging to A, B and C divisions, respectively, of the North-western regional health authority ambulance service were on deployment and based at Blackpool from 7 to 11 October; how many ambulances remained on station at Salford, Atherton, Wigan and Bolton during that period; how many ambulance service support vehicles were sent to Blackpool on a daily basis during that period; and what were the total numbers of hours paid, hours worked and rest days worked by ambulance personnel from the Greater Manchester ambulance service engaged in Operation Seagull during that period.

We do not hold this information centrally. I understand the hon. Member may already have had answers to some of these questions from the chairman of the North Western regional health authority, who may also be able to answer the remaining points.
