asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive the study he has commissioned from land use consultants into the environmental impact of a Channel fixed link and in particular the secondary and tertiary development consequences of such a link for Kent and elsewhere; and when he intends to make this study available to the House.

My officials will be receiving a series of reports from land use consultants during December. I shall consider making a comprehensive report available to the House in due course.
