asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the most recent figure for productivity in British Coal; and if he will make a statement.

For the week ending 31 January, average deep mined revenue output per manshift was 3ยท54 tonnes. Productivity is now recovering after a seasonal dip associated with the Christmas and new year holiday period and the subsequent severe weather.
