asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give details of quantities and type of food held within EEC intervention food stores and their location in (a) Sunderland, (b) Gateshead, (c) Newcastle upon Tyne, (d) North Tyneside and (e) South Tyneside.

[pursuant to his reply, 27 February 1987]: At 31 January 1987 the stocks held were as follows:regime should be tackled by internal measures to control support costs rather than by the Commission's proposed oils and fats tax. The latter might increase average retail food prices by about three quarters of 1 per cent.
