asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if the West Yorkshire residuary body has notified his Department of the capital receipts received for the sale of properties and land which previously belonged to the West Yorkshire metropolitan county council.

The West Yorkshire residuary body currently estimates that it will receive £2·75 million in 1986–87 and £3 million in 1987–88 from the sale of land and property. Firm figures will not be available until the residuary body's accounts for the respective years have been audited and certified.

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if the West Yorkshire residuary body has notified his Department of the number of bids made for the purchase of the county hall, situated in the city of Wakefield, West Yorkshire; and if he will make a statement.
