asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has plans to increase the current level of provision of day care facilities for those suffering from lack of hearing and other handicaps; and if he will make a statement.

The provision of day care facilities is the responsibility of local authorities which are best placed to consider the local needs and priorities for such services.
