asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the proposal to site a new London coach terminal in Paddington; when he proposes to announce a date for an inquiry into such a development; and if he will advise the number of representations made to date.

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave my hon. Friend the Member for Westminster, North (Mr. Wheeler) on 17 November last. I am still considering the most appropriate form of inquiry, and hope to make a further statement shortly. Since June 1985, when LRT was asked to carry out its study into future coach terminal requirements, we have received about 40 letters on the subject.
