asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has had from the Guatemalan Government about the reported incursion of British troops from Belize into the Peten region; and if he will make a statement on the progress of United Kingdom relations with Guatemala.

None. There was no incursion. Diplomatic relations were re-established between the United Kingdom and Guatemala on 29 December 1986. My right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office met President Cerezo on 10 February in Guatemala.
