asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on progress towards a middle east peace stettlement.

We are profoundly concerned at the absence of progress towards a solution of the Arab-Israel dispute. We and our European partners will try actively to help reduce the differences between the parties with a view to the convening of an international conference.
