asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has to how many households live in local authority accommodation which has only an electricity supply and no gas supply.

Based on information from the "Family Expenditure Survey", an estimated 1ยท65 million local authority and new town tenants in Great Britain had electricty in their homes but not a gas supply in 1985.
