asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what his Department is contributing to the European Year of the Environment.

[pursuant to his reply, 18 March 1987, c. 518]: Application forms will be available shortly for the funds available to grant aid projects within the EYE programme, and my Department will pay grant as early as possible on schemes recommended by the UK EYE committee. Pending parliamentary approval of the main Supply Estimate urgent expenditure estimated at £150,000 will be met by repayable advances from the Contingencies Fund.
