asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the quantity and the value in sterling of United Kingdom-produced butter going into intervention in the last 12 months for which figures arc available.

In the 12 months up to December 1986 the United Kingdom bought in 90,646 tonnes at a cost of nearly £174 million.
