Mr. Charles Morrison

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contributions for 1987 are being made to the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the United Nations Fund for Population Activities and the World Health Organisation's special programme on human reproduction.

We have made the following pledges for 1987, subject to parliamentary approval:

  • (a) International Planned Parenthood Federation: £6·6 million (this figure includes £0·6 million to help the federation develop its capacity to combat AIDS);
  • (b) United Nations Fund for Population Activities: £5·0 million;
  • (c) World Health Organisation's special programme on human reproduction: £2·2 million.
