asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many houses are to be built in the Newry urban housing area in 1987–88.

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in the first instance, but I understand from the chairman that in the 1987–88 financial year the Housing Executive expects to start 16 dwellings and to complete three dwellings in the Newry urban area.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people are on the housing waiting list in Newry urban area.

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and I am advised by the chairman that at 28 February 1987 there were 371 applicants on the housing waiting list for the Newry urban area.
