Member for Caernarfon, Official Report, columns 671–72, on his Department's research budget, he now intends to make an increase in his Department's research budget to meet the pay settlement for university research staff.

The implications of the pay settlement for non-clinical academic staff for the Department's research programme are still under consideration.
