asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the way in which the Property Services Agency and contractors conducted the sale of equipment used for building the airport at Mount Pleasant in the Falklands.

Most of the equipment used in the building of the Mount Pleasant airport was bought, and consequently owned, by the contractor, Laing-Mowlem-ARC Joint Venture. Disposal of that equipment is entirely a matter for the joint venture.
