asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make it his policy that no Government funds or facilities will be used for the performing of experiments upon living human embryos before the introduction of the promised legislation on this matter.

No. The Government intend to await Parliament's decision on this issue. I would also refer my hon. Friend to my reply of 23 January at column 741 to my hon. Friend the Member for Stafford (Mr. Cash).
