To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about the operation of the youth training programme in Northern Ireland.

The youth training programme has provided a two-year training package for 16 and 17-yearolds since 1982. During that time there have been 75,000 entrants. At the end of October this year there were 14,000 young people in training.
