To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he first issued instructions in 1986 to farmers in the restricted area of Cumbria on how to dispose of dead sheep.

The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) Order 1986 was issued on 20 June 1986. Under it movement of any sheep (either live or dead) off holdings in a designated area was forbidden except under a consent.
