To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will introduce legislation to prevent motor cycles and motor cars being equipped to break the speeding restrictions.

There are no plans to do so.The performance capability of modern cars and motor cycles sold here tends to reflect consumer preferences and driving conditions generally throughout Europe. It cannot be tailored to speed limits in the United Kingdom.
