To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what was the additional cost, over and above normal operating costs of Tornado squadrons in the United Kingdom and West Germany, of deploying and operating nine Royal Air Force Tornado aircraft at Goose Bay, Canada, from February to November 1987, including the costs of transporting crews to and from Canada.

The additional cost of deploying Tornado aircraft to Goose Bay from February to November 1987, over and above normal operating costs, is estimated at £7,457,000.
