To ask the Attorney-General how many cases in the first half of 1987 involving persons injured by plastic bullets in Northern Ireland have been considered by the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland; and what action was taken in each case.

From 1 January 1987 to 30 June 1987, the Director of Public Prosecutions (Northern Ireland) considered 10 cases involving persons injured by plastic bullets in Northern Ireland. No prosecutions were directed in eight of those 10 cases and in the remaining two cases a final direction awaits the outcome of other proceedings.
