To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list by each English local authority the number of (a) applications received from tenants to buy their council property, and (b) sales to tenants under the provisions of the Housing Act 1980; and what percentage each of these figures are of the local authority stock in April 1981.

Information on right to buy sales up to June 1987, as reported by each authority, appears in the "progress on council house sales" table placed in the Library on 11 December, in reply to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Stamford and Spalding (Mr. Davies), at column 275.The cumulative numbers of applications received by all of the English authorities could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
