To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food from which budgets he envisages the grants for forestry management and diversification outlined in his set-aside proposals for an extensification scheme coming; and if he will make a statement.

Provision has been made in the latest public expenditure survey for the cost of payments to farmers under the extensification scheme for setting aside land from cereals and putting it to fallow, woodland or non-agricultural use. 25 per cent. of United Kingdom expenditure under the scheme will be eligible for reimbursement from the Community's European agricultural guidance and guarantee fund.
