To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) when the British, Dutch and West German naval staffs' joint draft of the new NATO concept of maritime operations is due to be considered by NATO Defence Ministers;(2) if he will make a statement on the role being played by the United Kingdom in the drafting of the new NATO concept of maritime operations.

NATO's military authorities are currently carrying out a routine updating of NATO's concept of maritime operations in full consultation with member nations, including the United Kingdom.
