To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what representations his Department has received about the closure of the Rhymney benefit office, Mid Glamorgan; and whether he will reconsider the decision to close, in the light of more representations.

Representations were received from the hon. Member, Rhymney community council, the Rhymney Valley district council and the Rhymney branch of the Labour party. The decision to close the office was made after careful consideration of all the local circumstances which remain unchanged. I see no reason to reconsider the decision.
