To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what arrangements he is making within the areas of his responsibility in preparation for the advent of the single European market in 1992.

Ministers and officials of my Department are constantly in touch with the agriculture, fisheries and food industries on topics of current concern and on prospective future developments, including the progressive removal of remaining trade barriers within the Community. On 24 November at. column 152, my hon. Friend the Minister for Trade announced plans for a campaign to increase awareness of the implications of the single market. This campaign will be aimed at all relevant sectors of British business, including those for which I am responsible.
