To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services, for each of the last five years, what was the amount paid for residential care through regulation 9 payments, and what has been the percentage change since 1979.

The information held centrally is not in the form requested. The table sets out the position since 1979. 1986 is the most recent year for which information is available.
