There has been widespread interest throughout the community in the "Change of Heart" programme since it was launched in October 1986. A number of initiatives have been developed involving a wide range of organisations and interests in public services, business, the voluntary sector and the community. An integral part of the programme is the centrally organised publicity and advertising campaign which supports and complements the work of the numerous people involved in local initiatives.Initial research suggests that the public are starting to make the necessary changes, in relation to life style factors such as smoking, diet and exercise.
