To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement on the new computer applications and services that will arise from the replacement for the police national computer.

The Department is about to undertake a survey of all users of the police national computer to determine their requirements for a new PNC. This survey will form the basis for decisions about whether any new applications are required and, if so, what should be their nature and scope.
