Firearms Certificates

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish a table in the Official Report to show how many firearms certificates have been (a) renewed, (b) refused on application for renewal, (c) new applications refused and (d) new applications granted in each of the last five years in Northern Ireland; and in each case and year what types of firearms were listed on the applications for firearms certificates.

[holding answer 15 December 1987]: The information is as follows:of Ireland are at present attending degree granting courses in Northern Ireland; how many of these have the costs of their education course met in whole or in part from United Kingdom funds; and what assessment he has made of the impact of this influx on the number of

(a) Northern Ireland and (b) other United Kingdom students attending such courses.
