To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what was the average expenditure per household in 1979 and 1986–87 at (a) current prices, (b) 1979 prices and (c) 1987 prices on (1) electricity, (2) gas, (3) telephone charges, (4) water supply, (5) public transport and (6) prescription charges.

The information requested is shown for 1979 in the table.
