To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what further resources he is making available in 1987–88 for the National Health Service in Scotland.

My right hon. and learned Friend is making a further £7·6 million available to the hospitals and community health service programme for 1987–88. The extra money is intended to help with reducing waiting lists, upgrading facilities for the mentally ill and mentally handicapped, enhancing equipment in acute hospitals and in combating the AIDS problem.
