To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if, pursuant to his answer of 25 January, Official Report, column 32, he will make a statement on the near miss which took place over RAF Binbrook in Lincolnshire between and Air United Kingdom civil airliner Short 360 and a Phantom fighter bomber in April 1987.

The joint airmiss section of the National Air Traffic Services has investigated fully the circumstances surrounding the incident to which the hon. Member refers. Its findings have been examined by the joint airmiss working group, and its conclusions have been made known to the aviation community.
