To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has had with the Sri Lankan Government as to assistance for that country following the recent disturbances there.

At a special meeting of the Sri Lankan Aid Group in Paris on 4 December, Britain pledged additional aid of up to £20 million in support of reconstruction efforts. An aid mission visited Sri Lanka in January for discussions on the use of these funds.
