To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what road surfaces are being used in the repair of the M11 near Harlow; and to what extent the need to reduce noise levels influenced the choice of surface.

The repairs involve cutting out sections of the existing concrete carriageways and the replacement of like for like. This gives no scope for a choice of material other than concrete.
