To ask the Attorney-General if the Lord Chancellor proposes to make any changes to the system of appointing deputy judges; and if he will make a statement.

Under the present system, the Lord Chancellor appoints, after due consultation, those whom he judges to have the calibre, experience and standing necessary for this judical work. He has no plans to change that system.
