To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many letters he has received from the general public about British Rail's services to Fenchurch street station; and if he will make a statement.

We have received about 20 such letters since my right hon. Friend took up his present appointment. The management of the railway is a matter for British Rail. It is working hard to improve the quality of services to Fenchurch street.
