To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any costings have been undertaken by his Department of the likely saving from the relocation out of London of public bodies, including divisions of Government Departments; and if he will make a statement.

The responsibility for undertaking costings for relocation of activities out of London lies with the Department or public body concerned. With regard to a statement, I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I provided to the hon. Member for East Kilbride (Mr. Ingram) on 18 January 1988 at columns 475–76.
