To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1) what progress has been made in implementing the Consumer Affairs Council resolution of 1986 on the integration of consumer policies on food;(2) what progress has been made towards implementing the Consumer Affairs Council resolution of 1986 on the integration of consumer policies on competition.

The European Commission has recently submitted its first report to the Council on the progress made towards better integtration of consumer policy into other common policies including agriculture, competition, and transport, as requested by the Council resolution of 15 December 1986. A copy of the report is available in the Library (document 10541/87 of 14 December 1987). It is a disappointing report recording little progress.
