Teacher Training Places

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many teacher training places in Northern Ireland have been taken up by students from the Irish Republic during the past year as a result of European Community regulations; and what he estimates the demand to be for that source for the next two years.

Ten such students took up training in 1987–88. No significant change is expected over the next two years.
