To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the percentage turnover in the electoral roll for the Durham city constituency between 1983 and the last year for which figures were available.

Details of the numbers leaving or joining the register of electors in any year are not known centrally, except for the number of attainers1. The percentage change in the number of parliamentary electors and the total number of attainers joining the register for the city of Durham between 1983 and 1987, the latest available year, were as follows:
