To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will place in the Library the replies his Department received from each health authority in Wales requesting information on their needs following the perinatal mortality initiative report.

There was no requirement on the Department as a consequence of the perinatal mortality initiative report to collect information on maternity service needs. However, health authorities have been invited to submit bids for central funding for essential equipment for special care baby units and have been consulted on proposals for the creation of a regional neo-natal intensive care service. If the hon. Gentleman has a specific query, I would be happy to try to answer.
