To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the options being considered for the United Kingdom by his Department as a part of the proposals for the harmonisation of summer time in the European Commission.

We hope shortly to announce proposals to enable us to assess support for any changes to summer time arrangements both in respect of harmonisation with other member states and in respect of those who seek extended daylight hours.
