To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the conventional arms imbalance between North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the Warsaw pact.

According to our estimates, Warsaw pact conventional forces in Europe outnumber those of the Alliance in all major areas of combat capability: they have over three times as many tanks and artillery pieces; and almost twice as many combat aircraft.
