To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster which firms are involved in his Department's newly launched Link collaborative research programme on eukaryotic genetic engineering.

Four companies are committed already to collaborative research under the newly launched Link programme, eukaryotic genetic engineering. Glaxo and British Biotechnology are collaborating with the University of Oxford in pharmaceutical application. Dalgetty and Whitbread are collaborating with the University of Leicester in food applications. Six further companies are in discussion of collaboration with institutes of the Agriculture and Food Research Council.
